The Raikes School has welcomed four new members to the team: Nancy Heyne, Jody Myers, Becky Barnard, and Jenny Thompson.
Nancy Heyne
Nancy Heyne is our new Design Studio Program Lead. After graduating with high distinction from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Nancy began her career in Washington, D.C., working on Capitol Hill.
She has twenty years of experience in business, primarily working for Fleishman Hillard, a global public relations and marketing firm in multiple locations across the United States. She has worked with a variety of clients ranging from large corporations to non-profit organizations on strategic planning, crisis communications, and issue management. Nancy is a natural fit for the Design Studio team as she has implemented and simultaneously managed external and internal corporate communications, marketing projects, social media integration, and website development while working with teams.
Jody Myers
Jody Myers is our new Administrative Technician. Jody helps to maintain the Executive Director's schedule and performs various office support duties. Jody's prior experience has included medical transcription, medical records and receptionist positions for several medical facilities and has also worked for QP Ace Hardware in Lincoln, Nebraska. Jody attended Lincoln School of Commerce.
Becky Barnard
As our Events and Projects Coordinator at the Jeffrey S. Raikes School of Computer Science and Management, Becky Barnard is responsible for researching, planning, coordinating, and executing a wide variety of events associated with outreach, recruitment, and student engagement. She also helps with Design Studio events, planning the Advisory Board meetings, and with planning alumni events.
Prior to joining the Raikes School, Becky worked as the Council Coordinator for the Nebraska Council on Economic Education, a non-profit housed in the College of Business. She has also worked for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and the University of Nevada, Reno.
Jenny Thompson
Jenny Thompson is our new Director of Recruitment and Student Success. Prior to joining the Raikes School, Jenny worked as an adjunct professor and practicum supervisor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She provided supervision in classroom environments for students just starting their elementary education teaching experiences. She also worked with student teachers as they finished their fieldwork, prepared for Capstone, and applied for jobs.
