Brenden Timpe joined the faculty in the Department of Economics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2019. He received his Ph.D. in economics at the University of Michigan and his bachelor's degree from the University of North Dakota. Before returning to graduate school, he pursued a career as a journalist, speechwriter, and congressional aide. In his research, Dr. Timpe studies how public policy interacts with human behavior to shape trends in the labor market, demographic patterns, and income inequality.

At the Raikes School, Dr. Timpe teaches economics.
