2020 Design Studio Showcase

The 2019 - 2020 year saw the largest number of Raikes School Design Studio projects in history, as we partnered with 19 sponsors to produce 19 projects. With the current health concerns around COVID-19, we won’t be able to hold our typical Showcase experience at Nebraska Innovation Campus. We will be taking the Design Studio Showcase virtual to capture the same excitement and share the results of our students' hard work. Our students are delivering innovative solutions to real business problems, utilizing a wide array of technologies to make it all happen. Here are a couple of projects making a big impact: 

• Microsoft is looking to capitalize on telemetry to help Dynamics 365 customers understand their system usage and performance. 
  The Design Studio team has analyzed and transformed more than 99 million telemetry logs collected over one month, feeding information into a Power BI dashboard for Dynamics 365 system administrators.
• Kiewit needs a hardware and software solution to keep track of frequently moving construction site materials. 
  The Design Studio team has fabricated a hardware and software package to capture materials at the time of receipt and monitor their movement across a construction site, allowing materials to be tracked via mobile and desktop devices.
• Mutual of Omaha needs a way to predict outages by identifying server issues earlier, allowing mitigation before an outage occurs. 
  The Design Studio team has built a supervised machine learning model to predict outages within 24 hours before their occurrence, as well as an alerting system to notify the right people.
