2021 Design Studio Showcase

The 2020 - 2021 year saw the largest number of Raikes School Design Studio projects in history, as we partnered with 20 sponsors to produce 20 projects. With the ongoing health concerns around COVID-19, we won’t be able to hold our typical Showcase experience at Nebraska Innovation Campus. We will be taking the Design Studio Showcase virtual for a second year to capture the same excitement and share the results of our students' hard work. Our students are delivering innovative solutions to real business problems, utilizing a wide array of technologies to make it all happen. Here are a couple of projects making a big impact: 

• Olsson is looking to understand how building spaces are used with empirical data. 
  The Design Studio team has built a hardware and software platform to help businesses study space utilization, enabling them to reduce operating costs, increase usage efficiencies, and only use the natural resources that we truly need to.
• Spreetail needs an eventing framework across all of their products. 
  The Design Studio team has engineered the backend system and user interfaces to notify users of events throughout the Spreetail system, making it easy for Spreetail developers to create, deliver, and react to notifications.
• Valmont Industries needs insights into the IoT data being generated. 
  The Design Studio team has built analytics to understand the data generated by more than 100,000 connected devices related to irrigation management and center pivot monitoring and control, enabling better management of a crucial resource.
