Raikes School's 2026 Interview Experience

Congratulations on being selected to interview for the Raikes School’s 2026 cohort! We hope your interview experience is enjoyable and informative, allowing us to share more about the Raikes School and learn more about you. The Raikes School Interview Checklist:

  1. RSVP for your interview day by 5:00 pm CT on Tuesday, December 16.
    • In the RSVP, you’ll indicate your availability for Raikes School information sessions, college information sessions, and preference your top three interview dates.
    • Review the timeline and session descriptions section below for further details.
  2. Review confirmation of your interview day and related details sent via email by Monday, December 22.
    • Be sure to put all dates and associated Zoom links on your calendar!
  3. Review final details emailed about one week prior to your assigned interview day.
    • This includes details regarding your interview experience and information for parking on campus.
  4. Plan your trip to Lincoln.
    • Visit https://admissions.unl.edu/visit/plan-your-trip/ to see Husker Preferred Hotels, options for getting to Lincoln, and other sites to see during your trip.
    • Check out the additional videos and information below to help you learn more about the Raikes School and prepare for your interview experience.

Raikes School Information and Interview Tips Session

WHAT

  • Raikes School faculty, staff, and students will provide an overview of the Raikes School's academics, community, and career placement, and help you prepare for your interview day.

WHO IS INVOLVED

  • Interview candidates
  • Parents/guardians are welcome to attend, but their attendance is not required

WHEN

College Information Sessions (optional)

WHAT

  • Each Nebraska college will share information about academics, resources, and experiences available in their respective majors and how each fit within the Raikes School experience.
  • If you were able to attend a prior in-person campus visit, this session will include similar information, so attendance is optional but highly encouraged. Recordings will be posted below after each session concludes.

WHEN

  • College of Arts and Sciences
  • College of Business
    • Typical Majors: Accounting, Actuarial Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, Management, etc.
  • College of Engineering and School of Computing
    • Typical Majors: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.
  • You're welcome to attend sessions for as many colleges as you'd like
  • Attendance is optional, but highly encouraged at the session most closely aligned with your academic major of interest
Interview

WHEN

  • Friday, January 16
  • Saturday, January 17
  • Saturday, January 24
  • Thursday, January 29
  • Saturday, January 31
  • Each interview day will begin at 8:00 am and conclude by 12:30 pm. An optional Nebraska campus tour and lunch will be offered beginning at 12:30 pm.
  • You will preference your top 3 choices. There is no benefit to interviewing earlier or later, each interview candidate will be reviewed the same regardless of interview day.
  • Most students will come to campus to experience the full interview day. We can schedule a remote interview via Zoom if you live a significant distance from Nebraska's campus, are an international student, or have other extenuating circumstances. If you would like to request a remote interview option, contact both Adam Britten at adam.britten@unl.edu and Theresa Arneal at tluensmann2@unl.edu.

WHERE

  • At the Kauffman Academic Residential Center, 630 N 14th Street, Lincoln, NE 68508

WHAT

  • The interview day will include an individual interview, presentations about Raikes School curriculum, internships and career outcomes, students’ campus and community involvement, a tour of the Kauffman Academic Residential Center, opportunities to talk with current students and faculty, lunch, and an optional tour of the University of Nebraska – Lincoln campus.
  • Attire: We recommend wearing what makes you feel the most confident and comfortable. For many students, this is typically business-casual attire. This may include nice pants, a skirt or dress, and a dress shirt or sweater. A full suit is not required.

  • Parents/guardians are welcome to attend, but their attendance is not required. Each interview candidate can bring up to two guests. If you need to bring more than two guests, email Theresa Arneal at tluensmann2@unl.edu.
  • Raikes School alumni
  • Raikes School and University of Nebraska faculty and staff, and community members supporting the Raikes School
  • Raikes School current students
