Raikes School alumnus, Scott Anderson (Raikes School/JD Edwards Honors Program Cohort 2002) passed away unexpectedly on August 27, 2017 at his home in Omaha, NE. Scott was born on March 15, 1984, in Broken Bow to Gregory Scott and Sally Lynn (Martens) Anderson. Scott spent most of his youth in Grand Island, graduating from Grand Island Senior High School in 2002. As a young person, Scott developed an interest in information technology and music, playing saxophone and serving as head drum major for the Grand Island Senior High School marching band.
At the Raikes School, Scott earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (2006) and Master of Business Administration (2007) degrees. In college, Scott was an active member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and studied at Oxford University in England. Scott traveled widely in Europe. One memorable experience was skydiving over the Swiss Alps.
After graduation, Scott pursued his dream of working for Cisco Systems in Silicon Valley, CA. Scott later returned to Nebraska, working in the field of information assurance at Mutual of Omaha and National Indemnity Company.
Scott enjoyed fitness training, golf, literature, playing guitar, and listening to music. Scott loved a brisk walk with his dog, Hawkeye. He loved family activities, always arriving at events with a smile, enthusiasm, a spring in his step and a passion for a good time. Scott was a gracious host and highly-skilled cook, and enjoyed smoking meat for his guests. He recently enjoyed a cruise to Alaska with his family.
Scott is survived by his parents, Gregory and Sally Anderson of Grand Island; brother, Noah Anderson of Omaha; and niece, Bethany Anderson of Omaha; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
