Rob oversees the capstone programs of the Raikes School - Design Studio, Startup Studio, and Research Studio. These programs provide an educational opportunity for each student based on their interests.

The cornerstone of the capstone offerings is Design Studio where students get to put their education into action by creating something valuable for industry partners over the course of two semesters. Our students complete two years of capstone allowing an opportunity for them to serve in a leadership role in their second year.

In addition to industry-sponsored projects, students can compete for a chance to launch their own technology-based startup in Startup Studio. This venture-backed initiative walks students through the idea to launch process.

The third part of the capstone offerings is Research Studio which supports students interested in continuing their education by supporting their research studies with a Raikes School faculty member as well as a mentor research professor.

Prior to joining the Raikes School, Rob spent 30+ years working in software development, technical leadership, team building, and agile evangelism. Rob has worked in engineering, marketing, banking, education, and nonprofit industries. Prior to his role as Director of Design Studio, Rob served as a volunteer coach and guest lecturer for Design Studio.

Rob holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In addition, Rob is a Certified Scrum Professional and a Project Management Institute Agile Certified Professional.

Outside of work, Rob enjoys traveling, running, reading, and leading the Lincoln-based agileLNK, a user group for agile practitioners.
